We are Rushing to Save 80 Elephants To be Culled!

ELEPHANTS - ATHERSTONE

These are some of the family members of the herd of 80 who are to be killed.

We are rushing to the rescue of 80 elephants in the Atherstone Nature Reserve who are to be culled. The culling permit has been submitted to the Republic of South Africa and we estimate it will be approved approximately the first week of September.

We are working with three different reserves who have some interest in taking them. And, we’ve found a new home for 10 of them already. So we’re making progress.

However, we feel the best choice is to leave them where they are and establish a reforestation plan to restore the ecosystem, which the reserve claims is imbalanced by this herd.
